Fire of Anatolia takes the stage at the Aspendos Arena

Fire of Anatolia meets the art lovers between 29th April - 30th May 2014 at Aspendos Arena in Antalya.  

The Fire of Anatolia or Anadolu Ateşi is a Turkish dance group consisting of 120 dancers, several choreographers and other technical staff. The group has performed in more than 85 countries from the USA to China and Japan, in front of an audience of approximately 20 million people altogether. 

Fire of Anatolia holds two Guinness records, one for fastest dance performance with 241 steps per minute and another for largest audience, 400 000 people in Ereğli, in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. The head of the group is Mustafa Erdoğan.

A synthesis of hundreds of folkdance figures and music from different regions, Fire of Anatolia is a unique project whose source is Anatolia’s ancient mythological and cultural history. Produced by Mustafa Erdoğan, the group hopes to introduce the world to the fire thatarises from the ancient mosaic of love, cultural history and peace in Anatolia.

Starting its first world tour in 2002, The Fire of Anatolia has reached to great art-lovers in 85 countries throughout the world from Qatar to Japan, Siberia to United States of America and has met more than 20 million audience with its 3500 performances.

Antalya Mayor Akaydın crowns the gallery with the name of Turkish journalist-writer-painter and photography artist, 86-year-old master Fikret Otyam whose hands has been covered in paint for 70 years.

The Fikret Otyam Art Gallery, opened in Antalya’s historical Demirciler İçi Bazaar, played host to the screening of a documentary on Otyam’s life for the first time in Turkey.

Turkish Ceramics

The art of Turkish ceramics' roots can be traced at least as far back as the Uighurs of the 8th and 9th centuries. Its subsequent development was influenced by Central Asian Karakhanid, Ghaznavid, and (especially) Seljuk art. With the Seljuks' victory over the Byzantines at Malazgirt in 1071, the art followed them into Anatolia and embarked upon a new period of strong development fostered by the Anatolian Seljuk sultanate.

Turquoise was the most frequently-used color for glaze although cobalt blue, eggplant violet, and sometimes black were also popular.

The art of Turkish tile and ceramic-making developed over the centuries incorporating many different techniques and styles. Enriched by the arrival of the Seljuks, the ceramic industry in Anatolia achieved a deservedly worldwide reputation with the support of the Ottoman court. Today, Kutahya has been revived as an important center of tile and ceramic-making. In addition, efforts are also being made in private workshops and educational institutions in Iznik, Istanbul, Bursa and Antalya to keep the art of traditional Turkish tiles and ceramics alive and develop it so that it can address the demands of modern-day life.

"Turkey Now" Festival In Holland - 400 years of relations Turkey-Netherlands

The 4th Turkey Now Festival which aims to promote Turkish Art and Culture is realized between 23rd february-23rd may in Amsterdam, Lahey, Rotterdam, Uthrecht, Eindhoven and Deventer-Holland.

Leman Sam and her daughters Sevval and Şehnaz Sam will give a concert with Holland Metropol Orchestra.

During the festival there will be many Turkish Art like classical music, jazz, rock music concerts, theater, dance will be performed. 

The festival will last 3 months with 60 concerts and many cultural activities. Some of the name of turkish artist who will perform at he festival are Arif Sağ, Mercan Dede, Fuat Saka. Also Athena and Duman will give the concerts and İstanbul Balet Community will show their "Seyahatname 2" balet.

The festival will end with the concert of the Residentie Orchestra of Hüseyin Sermet.
