Antalya City Blog visited Suleyman Demirel Airport as a guest. of Isparta Suleyman Demirel Airport Safety Branch Manager Mr. Ercan Demir.

Isparta Süleyman Demirel Airpot is founded in 1997 and it is situated between the  cities Isparta and Burdur. The airport received the name of the 9th Prime Minister of Türkiye Süleyman Demirel, who had been born in Isparta city.

Passenger Terminal is 5400 m² and has a total (domestic and international) capacity of 1.500.000 passengers per year.

The aerodrome has a concrete runway with the dimensions of 3000x45 meters, an apron with 5 aircraft stands, and a single taxiway connecting them. The resistance of the runway is 120 PCN, whereas the apron resistance is 100 PCN.

There are 3 sheduled flight from Istanbul to our airport (Turkish Airlines-THY). Days and hours as follows;
                                                   Monday           Wednesday                 Friday
Expected Arrival Time              14:50                    14:50                      14:50
Expected Departure Time        15:30                   15:30                       15:30

In summertime, touristic charter flights are launched from several Iran cities to Isparta. Due to increasingly intense training activities which are operated throughout the entire year, the vast majority of the aerodrome`s air traffic is consisted of VFR training flihgts.

A newly constructed maintanence hangar at the aerodrome is expected to be put into service.
