Tiger Woods and the World Best Golfers are in Antalya for Turkish Airlines Open 2013

After the success of last year's inaugural professional golf tournament, 2013 will see another world class event being held in Antalya. The Turkish Airlines Open will take place 7-10 November at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club in Belek.  

Many of the best golfers in the world, including No 1 Tiger Woods, will be coming to Turkey to compete in this high profile tournament which will be part of the European Tour's prestigious Final Series.  

The Turkish Airlines Open will consist of 78 players competing for a US$7,000,000 prize fund. The tournament will be one of the highlights of the international golfing year. It will be the third event in the European Tour’s Final Series and will ultimately decide who qualifies for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Turkish Airlines Open will be a good opportunity to promote Turkey around the world. Live and delayed coverage will televised by over 38 broadcasters and to a possible audience of over 500 million homes.

Turkish Airlines Ladies Open 2013

The 2013 Turkish Airlines Ladies Open took place for the 5th time at the National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya on May 9-12, 2013 under the main sponsorship of Turkish Airlines and the organization of the promoter Mineks International.

The Turkish Airlines Ladies Open attracted many of the world´s leading lady professional golfers as every year. This year 126 professional players from 31 countries competed at the tournament. 

Professional lady golfers traveled from all five continents and countries including United States, Australia, China, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Kazakhstan, Peru, Namibia, Columbia, Mexico, Latvia, etc. 

Some of the greatest lady golfers that played at the 2013 Turkish Airlines Ladies Open include the great Laura Davies, the winner of 80 tournaments worldwide, 2011 and 2012 champion from Netherlands Christel Boeljon, 2010 Champion British Melissa Reid, Carin Koch from Sweden, Lee-Anne Pace from South Africa, Carlota Ciganda from Spain and many more.

For the third year in a row the Garanti Master Pro- Am has proved to be a sensational success as the opener for the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open golf tournament.

36 leading international lady professional golfers were each teamed with 3 amateur players to competed for the Garanti Masters title. 

The eventual winners were: 

1st 76 points- Professional Henni Zeal (England) with Jan Johansson, Marc Cordier, Furkan Koca best back 9 holes. 
2nd. 76 points- Professional Sharmila Nicollet (India) with Sabri Yigit, Ali Ozdogan, Serhat Guzel. 
3rd 75 points- Professional Sophie Sandolo, with National Golf Club Juniors Sezgi Kilic, Nergiz Kok and Aslihan Kaplan. 

The prize for the professionals with the most birdies was a 3 way tie with 4 birdies each: 
Carlota Ciganda (Spain), Klara Spilkova (Czech Republic), Carmen Alonso (Spain).

Antalya will host the World Amateur Golf Championships

World Amateur Golf Championships 2012 to take place in Antalya. 

Female golfers will compete in Antalya between September 27 and 30 while male golfers would compete between October 4 and 7.

Around 420 golfers are expected to participate in the Championships to be hosted by the Turkish Golf Federation.
