Popular and Famous Traditional Foods in Antalya


Antalya’s signature cuisine includes Piyaz, spicy hibeş with mixed cumin and tahini, şiş köfte, tandır kebap, domates civesi, şakşuka, börülce salatası, kabak çiçeği dolması, kabak çintmesi, börülce çorbası, şiş köfte, laba, and various cold Mediterranean dishes with olive oil. One local speciality is tirmis, boiled seeds of the lupin, eaten as a snack. "Grida" (also known as Lagos or Mediterrenean white grouper) is a fish common in local dishes.

1) Antalya Usulü Piyaz (Antalya Bean Salad)

2 cups of cooked beans
1 onion, cut finely in half-moons
1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
1 or two hard boiled eggs, sliced
1 tomato, diced
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 cloves of garlic, minced

2) Saç Kavurma (Diced lamb fried on iron plate)

250 grams of fat tail
500 grams of goat meat
200 grams of onion
1 / 2 bunch parsley
250 grams green pepper
150 grams of red pepper (pepper sauceboat)
150 grams Charleston peppers (sweet green pepper)
200 grams tomatoes
Salt, black pepper (1 teaspoon), red pepper flakes (optional)

3) Domates Civesi (Fried green tomatoes food)

Less than 500 grams of green to red ripe tomato
2 large onions
4-5 pieces of garlic
3 tablespoons rice
2 teaspoons mint
Half lemon
5 tablespoons olive oil

4) Kelle Paça Çorbası (Goat or Sheep's head and trotters Soup)

trotters and the head of goat or sheep
6 cups water
1 medium onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons of refined oil
1 teaspoon red pepper
1 / 6 cup lemon juice
2 egg yolks

5) Kabak Tatlısı (Pumpkin Dessert)

1 pound of pumpkin
3 cups granulated sugar
Sesame Oil (Tahini)

  2. @ cooking varieties (wan), Hi Wan, you are welcome. In Antalya, traditional food are generally with meat, not chicken. Especially, the goat and sheep meat are used in the food. Yes, I want to be guest blogger in your blog.
