The Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akaydın visited Haikou and signed a sister city protocol with Kunming in China.
Evaluating his trip, Mayor Akaydın expressed that they had such a successful study trip and added ‘Especially at Haikou we were accepted at such a high level and that made us so happy.
Haikou is deeply attracted by the tourism potential of Antalya but just 100.000 or 200.000 tourista visits Haikou per year. That’s why they want to become a worldwide known city like Antalya. I think they have the most comprehensive fair and exhibition centers of the world. We have to find new ways to host Chinese tourists in Antalya. Chinese tourists are interested cultural, sportive and historical holiday rather than sea, sand and beach concept. They only have holidays in their national holidays that are in winter months in Turkey. By the way we can host many Chinese tourists in winter months if we pay more attention to Chinese cuisine. They are also known by their SPA and Golf tourism and we can benefit from their experiences.’
Antalya Metropolitan Municipalty signed a sister city protocol with Kunming, another city of China. The Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akyaydın and The Mayor of Kunming Zhang Zulin signed the protocol Kunming is the capital and largest city of Yunnan Province in Southwestern China. As is ornamented by flowers the whole year it is known as ‘The City of Spring’
