On the other hand, it will draw the attention of domestic and foreign tourist. The museum will be the new attraction center of Old Town Marina after Toy Museum. We are working to make Antalya the city of culture especially the city of museums. In this museum samples of sea creatures that are dried and kept in fixative solutions and the skeletons of marine mammals will be exhibited.

The museum aims to create social awareness on protection of seas by introducing natural and cultural values. Therefore educational programs and seminars will be held about the protected marine species, statues of protection, exotic and endemic Red Sea-origin species.”

Amazing Street Musicians in Antalya

Antalya is a magnet for anyone and everything with individuality. The music you hear, the food you taste, the people you watch, and the architecture you admire, is completely unique to Antalya.

Antalya's greatest live music won't be found in expensive concert venues or in posh nightclubs, but on the street corner.

Seven days a week you can find and enjoy any number of performances.

You will be amazed at the quality of the street musicians in Antalya.

The street musicscene in Antalya is definitely on an extremely high level and anytime when you feel tired of walking around and sightseeing, just sit nearby and enjoy their music.

If your travel budget does not allow additional expenses for concerts in Antalya, this is a perfect way to enjoy amazing live music. Moreover, most of these people are very friendly and enjoy having concersations after their show.

You will be astonished and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the music to be found on the streets of Antalya.

Football Tourism in Antalya and Turkish Airlines Antalya Cup 2014

Saluez,

To quench our hunger to football and more importantly a special tournament has started in Akdeniz University Stadium. The Turkish Airlines Antalya Cup 2014.

Celtic vs. Trabzonspor.

This season, Celtic is in the Champions League, and Trabzonspor is in the Europa League. Celtic was unlucky, because AC Milan and Barcelona were in the same group with Celtic in the Champions League So, Celtic completed the group at the last place.

Interestingly, Ajax was in the same group and finished third, now it is another foreign club in the Turkish Airlines Antalya Cup 2014.

Our expectation beautiful football and plenty of goals from the match between Trabzonspor and Celtic in Antalya. Celtic 3-1 in favor of the results , we think we're watching football as an enjoyable match.

However, this type of tournaments, we, as Antalians know that these matches are not ordinary matches.

It is extremely beneficial in terms of promotion of Turkey and Antalya with these tournaments.

Because of these, we want bigger and modern stadium in Antalya

Akdeniz university Stadium's capacity is around 7 thousand, but we hope that these tournaments will be played when the constrution of the 33 thousand people capacity new stadium finished in Antalya.

You can say that just two foreign team have played match, and this is not a real promotion of Antalya, but this is a real promotion. From the simplest example I'll give the first match of the tournament .

Trabzonspor vs Celtic:

In Trabzonspor's squad there are 12 players fromTurkey, 2 from Ivory Coast, 1 from Australia, 1 from Poland, and 1 from Portugal.

Let's look at the Celtic team: There are only two Scots in the first 11. In the 20-man squad, 6 players from Scotland, 2 from the Netherlands, 2 from Wales, 1 from Poland, 1 from Nigeria, 1 from Honduras, 1 from Israel, 1 from Finland, 1 from Portugal, 1 from Italy, 1 from Sweden, 1 from the UK and Ireland.
So if we leave aside the Scottish players, Celtic staff from 12 different countries in 14.

In other words, players from Europe, Africa, Australia, America and Asia played in Antalya last night. If there is football in Antarctica, I'm sure there would have been a footballer from Antarctica last night in Antalya.

From 5 continents, 15 countries, 37 football players played last night in Antalya So, this is a real promotion of Antalya. This is football tourism.

Over 1500 clubs around the world came to Antalya for Midseason training camps.

Each football player will remember Antalya when they go back their home.

So, some people do not try to prevent sports investments in Antalya.

They should not prevent to constrution of the new stadium in Antalya which has 33 thousand people capacity.

They should not forget that we lost to be host city for the World Basketball Championship when they prevent to construction of new sports center..

Only two years earlier, the club had moved away from their traditional Antalya Atatürk Stadium to the brand new Mardan Sports Complex, located east outside the city of Anatalya.

Its distance from the city and consequent transport problems, however, made Antalyaspor decide to make Akdeniz Üniversitesi-Stadion their new home.

The stadium currently has a capacity of 7,100 seats, but the club has plans to expand this to 12,000 by completing the stadium with a southern curve. Works are expected to be finished in early 2013.

Getting there:
Akdeniz University Stadium is located at the Akdeniz University campus at just under 6 kilometres west from the historic city centre of Antalya.

Address: Akdeniz University, Pınarbaşı District, 07985 Antalya.

Amazing Journey in the Shadow of Pine Trees

Last weekend our talented author Mehmet Özkaya went an amazing journey for you by his bike. This short tour began in front of his summer house in Gündoğdu in Manavgat and this beautiful tour finished in ‘Aktaş’ (which means White Stone).

Mehmet's bike
As you know, in Mediterranean Region you able to experience four seasons during the week. He takes that as an advantage sunny day, and he wanted to show you Mediterranean’s beauty of pine trees in Antalya.

(The local People gave this name because of huge white Stone at entrance of river. When local fishermen came from the sea the ‘White Stone’ (Aktaş) meets them at the entrance of the river.)

When you are in Aktaş you can drink alcoholic and soft beverages accompanied with magnificent Mediterranean View. Besides you can swim after drink. In My trip I ride through the Gündoğdu Village (‘SunRise’ is the meaning of Gündoğdu). In the village, You will see new structures mostly. Also on the both side of the road you will see farm animals such as goats, sheeps, cow, chicken. Furthermore It is possible to see greenhouses. In these greenhouses local people are producing different kind of vegetables & fruits, and they are selling those products to the local markets in Manavgat.

There is a school and mosque inside the village. After you pass the mosque you will see the first olive oil factory of the area. This factory was found and managed by a local family. They’re stil running an olive oil business, but in a modernised one. After you pass the  factory you will see a crossroads. You have to pick left way to arrive to Aktaş. (If you pick the  right way you will ride through the road and reach to the local graveyard).

When you follow the path on the left you will see the pine and olive trees. If you want you can take a break under the shadow of these wonderful trees. A little after neighbour village of Gündoğdu will welcome you. This village is called  ‘KISALAR’ The Beach of the village is an offical natural protection zone because it is the production area for the logerhead sea turtles (Caretta Caretta). You’ll ride through the beach road. Therefore you may get stuck in the sun if you don’t be carefull. Keep following the road for a while and Aktaş will welcome you.
